Join Us: Filling the gap between Psychology and Medicine

BrainTrainUT: Join Us

BrainTrainUT’s vision is to establish Neurofeedback as a mainstream alternative to medication or long-term therapy. Neurofeedback improves brain efficiency with direct feedback to the brain on its own performance, enabling the brain’s own self-regulating capability to adjust its response based upon that feedback.

Just like physical therapy, repeated sessions enable the brain to learn to operate more efficiently on its own. With considerable untapped potential in Utah, Neurofeedback crosses the boundaries of psychology and medicine. It has been shown to improve symptoms of irregular brain function including depression, ADHD and epilepsy and around the world is fast becoming recognized as an effective treatment process.

You will develop training programs for clients, offering them full support. You will travel to clinics around Utah, and, up to twice a year, for initial training and ongoing professional development. In this multi-faceted role you will conduct the initial client consultations as well as make new and on-going appointments, developing the practice and client base. You will have ample opportunities to develop and expand your role and demonstrate your team working and mentoring skills with a growing team of Practitioners.

You should be exceptionally bright, hold a Masters degree and be a quick learner, naturally curious and passionate about making a difference. As an existing healthcare professional or psychologist you must be comfortable and experienced in discussing symptoms with patients and determining appropriate approaches.

You should also be comfortable working on your own, although you will be given all the training and support you need.

We are uncompromising in our selection of potential practitioners and have strict entry criteria. A Masters degree in a related subject is a prerequisite, unless you have many years of highly-relevant clinical experience (e.g. Nurse Practitioner).

To work with the BrainTrainUT network, practitioners must demonstrate a proven ability to work within a client-practitioner relationship and be able to cope with the challenges presented to those relationships within the field of mental health.

Our training approach models that of leading medical schools, to support our unique multiple modality approach to Biofeedback and Applied Neuroscience and our multi-disciplinary culture.

Technical classroom training on the technology is an essential part of the process and consists of courses in Los Angeles, as well as using external and in-house training. Even more important are clinical methodology and practical training and the essential skills that make an effective and trustworthy clinician, through shadowing, case studies, operational and client relationship training, and ongoing support from Utah’s leading practice.

At BrainTrainUT, not only do we have our own internal support, we also have direct support from the world’s leaders in the field from clinical, scientific, engineering and research disciplines. Our support network includes Susan Othmer, described by the Biofeedback Federation of Europe as ‘the world’s most respected clinician’, Dr. Siegfried Othmer, Dr. Bernhard Wandernoth and Dr. David A Kaiser.

We view Neurofeedback as an important part of medicine that the medical community is still learning about. We complement and augment conventional medicine, spend a lot of time collaborating with the existing healthcare system, we are members of the Royal Society of Medicine and we have strong relationships with world-leading Dieticians, General Practitioners and Specialist Consultants.

Our experience at the highest levels of private and public healthcare means we lead the field in integrating Neurofeedback with your overall healthcare experience.
